Testimonials

- Dorothy Jolly

"Kira is the fiercest advocate I have for my creative progress and joy. She is my first stop for coaching when I have new material or feel stuck artistically."
"She has a keen eye, a kind and fair delivery, and loads of creativity. When I was feeling particularly stuck, she always had a new tool or trick to pull out and try."

- Bethany McHuge

"Not only is Kira a phenomenal actor, she is able to provide the right speech and approach to bring other actors to her level with a genuine understanding and excitement. Kira talks the talk and walks the walk."

- Autumn Eliza Sheffy

"In the span of nearly a year collaborating with Kira, I have witnessed a remarkable evolution in my abilities. My self-assurance and proficiency in my craft have notably increased, supported by new techniques and a deeper insight into character embodiment. Kira has also helped me develop an understanding of the industry's dynamics. Our efforts have been directed towards building a versatile repertoire, preparation for upcoming auditions, and tailored character preparation for each role. Implementing these strategies into my life has had a significant impact on my auditions and artistic development!"

- Hayley Smith

"Kira is very professional and prepared, she reviewed my material in advance of our coaching and came with a lot of great questions to help me hash out my character. For actual coaching, she gave me a lot of great ways to think about this scene, guiding me with great direction and also letting me think out ideas myself. I felt super ready for the scene when we went to shoot it and it went super great thanks to my prep with Kira."

- Joelle Velez

"Wow, I cannot recommend Kira enough! She creates a space for you to PLAY, without the distraction of aiming for "perfection" but rather discovery. Having received my Masters in Classical acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, I have worked with numerous talented acting teachers and coaches and I would honestly say that Kira is right up there with them. Working with Kira was one of the most exciting sessions I've had. If you are looking to get coached on a monologue, work a scene, or work an audition Kira is the best of the best!"

- Nikki Hartung

"Kira's coaching is concise, conscientious, and enlightening.  She knew exactly what notes would speak strongest to me, relating to me as an actor and building me up so that I could deliver the tweaks we were looking for with ease. She helped polish a new piece and breathe fresh life into one of my staples.  I walked away from my session with the new perspective and confidence needed to rock some auditions and book some great gigs!"

Coaching About

More About Me

I am an international actor, director, mentor and theatremaker originally from the American midwest and now based in SE London.

My coaching practice has developed throughout 10+ years experience as a working professional actor, devisor, musical theatre performer, improviser, and even a renaissance faire performer!

I trained in acting and directing at Rose Bruford College (London) where I received an MFA in International Theatre Practice & Performance, and I hold a Bachelors degree in Theatre and Vocal Performance from Cornell College (Iowa.)

In the UK, I assistant teach on Acting For Film /TV courses at Actors Studio London and I've trained at Viewpoints London, and continue to practice with Demidov Studio London.

My passion for providing actors with the tools, the empowerment, and the agency required to become flourishing independent creative artists is fueled by my experiences as an actor both in my career and throughout my training. I noticed a severe lack of nurture for the actor's independent creative practice throughout my arts education and extensive actor training. As a professional, I found this lack of nurture to be detrimental when the pressures of the profession began to take over, despite having been a self-driven, independent, and ambitious creative type all my life. It took me years to understand that I alone have the power and responsibility to nurture my own creative practice– that I don't have to wait for anyone else to give me permission. That I can in fact Dare To Act on my own creative dreams. I am constantly learning and expanding my creative process as an actor-creator and seeking to find a balance between artistic fulfillment and my ambition in this industry. And I've found purpose in mentoring others navigating this journey as well.

I have long since been interested in the craft of acting and how we work to embody lives that are not our own and yet, at the same time, are so uniquely us. I’m an absolute geek about acting theory and have studied extensively the creation of actor training as we know it stemming from Stanislavsky and his ideas. I am well versed in a number of theories including Stanislavsky, Meisner, Viewpoints, Laban, and have dabbled in Alexander Technique among many other frameworks. My practice is highly influenced by Nikolai Demidov, one of Stanislavsky's contemporaries, and his theories of cultivating true creative freedom in the actor-creator. I am confident my multiple helpful perspectives as an actor, director, and educator can provide you with the guidance, coaching, or nurture you need.

And finally... I just love actors. I love working with actors! I think an actor's storytelling power is a form of magic, and It'd be my greatest honor to support you in developing your magical artistry.
